SOOOOO SEW GRATEFUL

Hello chickadees. Once again, a dispatch from some stolen work computer time as I have not yet replaced my stolen laptop (it's in the works - my pop is sending me his old PC, which should be arriving shortly).

Sew Grateful Week could not come at a better time for me as I am SO SEW GRATEFUL for SO SEW many things. First and foremost is the new apartment.... I officially moved in on Saturday! Which incidentally was my 32nd (gulp!) birthday. While moving may not top your list of "fun ways to celebrate your mortality", there was something immensely humbling and satisfying about cramming my whole life in a 14' Uhaul, and then seeing it trundled up and down stairs by 7 of the funniest/kindest humans alive (in -12 Celsius weather in a record breaking FOUR AND A HALF HOURS)! I then almost drowned in my new/old/huge bathtub, gulped down  the birthday dinner of champions (Kraft Dinner, ha ha - seriously) and hightailed it to a friend's where there was a birthday party for me in full swing.

The rest of the weekend was devoted to unpacking, and after 2 furious days of activity I am about 75% there. The only room not yet done is my new dining room/sewing studio. I am DYING to start sewing again but it will have to wait until I can get to an Ikea this week and pick up shelves and other organizational ephemera. I am so excited to start working in this new sun drenched space, and so grateful to the universe for proffering this ridiculously beautiful new home to me.... It's so big and bright and feels sinfully luxurious to be living here all alone....

Since all of my sewing stuff is still in boxes, I will have to delay a Sew Grateful give-away till next week since I have lots of goodies packed away. In the meantime, a few more instagram snaps of my new home as I get settled in.....

1. Dirty shoes on an immaculately scrubbed bathroom floor
2. First morning in new bedroom
3. Freshly painted dining room
4. Finally enough room for all the vintage china
5. Priority unpacking - jewelry altar
6. Blank wall soon to be sewing studio

  2. Happy belated birthday! Your new home looks amazing - all that space! Your friends sound like an amazing bunch of people - that's one thing I think has only improved with age - my friendships - and I value them so much more now than I think I probably did in my early 20s.

  3. Yaay!! Happy belated birthday, for starters - and happy new apartment! It must be such a relief to be at the unpacking and "settling in" stage. I'm still awestruck by your new place - super beautiful! I'm so (sew!) happy for you, Heather!

  5. Stress can be relentless for all involved with having to wait for problem solving solutions or unable
to communicate effectively when needed. There are many people who
have complain that even before they pen down their thoughts in the paper, they forget about it.
Still, if you have almost nothing on your phone you may want to give it a shot next
time you are up on your little pedestal.
